SAFETY INFORMATION
- Each mask is lined with comfortable white cotton fabric - which is the CDC recommended fabric for masks when respirators are not available. The outside is woven cotton in a mixture of colors. The mask has adequate facial coverage and provides more protection and comfort than many surgical masks as it is fit better to the face.
- Level of protection: Cloth masks are not anti-viral and the CDC still recommends N95 respirators as the first line of defense - but cloth masks can help supplement the supply so that the supply of N95 respirators can be allocated for front line doctors and nurses. Additionally, some hospitals have been requesting cloth masks to wear over N95 masks to protect them and preserve them during this time of limited supply. Cloth masks may help prevent transmission when there is not a better option by limiting hand-to-mouth transmission, and helping to prevent a sick person from transmitting to others.
